Eddie is my first jackrussell, he is born in 1997 and his breeder is my sister in law. He charmed me as soon as I laid my eyes on him, as he still does with everyone he meets. Unfortunately he got a cataract diagnose when he was 2 years old and was never used for breeding after that. Now he is castrated. He had one litter before the diagnose and one of those four pups has cataract (as far as I know only that one has been checked…). So far his cataract isn't bothering him and he is a vital and active 12 years old.

Eppu - as he is called by his friends - is a great character. He is a Real Gentleman and a True Hunter in same package. He is the light of my life and he has the biggest heart in the world. He loves obedience, agility, running in the woods and especially digging moles! That's where my kennel name comes from; when ever Eppu is in a garden, he is digging dirt. He is also very good in doing tricks and he has been performing in several magazines and TV-shows, even in some books. He also loves fishing, surfing and boating.

In the summer of 2004 a snake bit Eppu and he was very near to die. His kidneys almost stopped working and his vet did a great job saving his life. The vet - Marjukka Sarkanen - never stopped believing in his recovery and she truly did a lot to save him. She got a "life saving medal" for her job from Eppu, but I still want to thank her here.

Eppu has been only once in an official show. He became second best male and got "Excellent" and reserve-Cacib! That was a good spot to end his show career. He sleeps on the biggest pillow right next to me in my bed. I can't be without him for more than one day without feeling it in my heart. Eppu has a lot of dear and beloved friends; Tiny, Roosa, Panda, Ronja and Piki just to name some. They are all girls.

One of Eppus favourite summer hobbies; surfing!

Eppu and my nephew Ronny are good friends
